The anti-corruption prosecutor in Málaga, Juan Carlos López Caballero, yesterday opposed bail be granted for the six of the main people accused at the centre of the Marbella ‘Malaya’ corruption case, including the municipal real estate assessor said to be at the centre of the corruption, Juan Antonio Roca, ex mayor of the town, Marisol Yagüe, and the ex deputy mayor, Isabel García Marcos.
The anti-corruption prosecutor considered that given the seriousness of the charges, and of the risk of flight that bail not be granted. The group have been in prison since April 1 when the case broke at the hands of the Marbella instruction judge, Miguel Angel Torres.
